Jack "Granboy" Allen Sanders

Mr. Jack A. "Granboy" Sanders, Sr. age 87, of Keystone Heights passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was born in Hopeful, Georgia on October 20, 1928 to the late Otis and Ruby (Hurst) Sanders. Mr. Sanders graduated in a class of eleven students in Hopeful. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy serving four years. Prior to retirement, Mr. Sanders worked as a Superintendent for Batson-Cook Construction Company for 40 years. In 1986 he and his wife moved to Keystone Heights and joined the First Baptist Church where Mr. Sanders served as a deacon. Mr. Sanders never stopped working; he loved piddling around his barn, spending time with his family doing most anything. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Roloph; a sister, Gwenn Culbreth and a daughter-in-law, Laura sanders. His survivors are his loving and dedicated wife of 65 years, Emojean (Worsham) and their three children; Deborah Roloph (Mitchel) of Pensacola, Jackie Cory (Randy) of Keystone Heights and Allen Sanders, II (Christine) of Tampa along with one brother, Gene Sanders (Barbara) of Destin. He was also Granboy to ten grandchildren; Mitchell Roloph, Elayne McWethy, Brian Wester, Angela Givens, Shannon Kirkland, Travis, Brooke, Austin, Cole and Dakota Sanders; thirteen great grandchildren, Caitlin, Michael, Alex, Morgan, Bryson, Brayden, JR, Jeremy, Kaylee, Logan, Brielle, Quinton, and Kase and five great-great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kolter, Coltyn, Layton, Lyla. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Findley officiating.
