Jack Dempsey Smith Funeral services for Jack Dempsey Smith, 83, who died May 30, 2012, will be held Monday at 10:00 AM from the graveside in Evergreen Cemetery (Gate #1) with Rev. Scott Swanstrom officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. Mr. Smith was born in Easley, South Carolina and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Epoch Church and the Teamsters Union. He was a Truck Driver for Carolina Freight.
