Mr. Jack Edward (Ed) Strube, Sr. 82 of Keystone Heights passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 following a brief illness. Ed was born in Jacksonville, FL on July 18, 1928. He attended Andrew Jackson High School, served in the Army and retired in 1986 from Bellsouth after 32 years of service. He spent his retirement years as an avid gardener, wood carver, and enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife, Frances. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nora Strube and his sister Norma Riggs. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Strube, 3 sons; Jack E. Strube, Jr. & his wife Barbara of Keystone Heights, Tom C. Strube of Miami, and Bruce A. Strube & his wife Phyllis of Melrose; 3 grandchildren; Kenneth Strube, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force, Stephanie Strube of Jacksonville Beach, and Jackson Strube of Keystone Heights and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11 oclock in the Trinity Baptist Church, 3716 SE State Road 21, Keystone Heights, FL 32656 with Pastor James Peoples officiating.
