Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our son, Jacob James "Hawk" Sarama, who left us too soon on March 22, 2025. Jake was the firstborn son and grandchild on both sides, born on July 25, 1996, in Jacksonville, FL. He was a free-spirited soul who considered his home to be wherever his family and friends were. A true main character doing main character things! He had unique thoughts and ideas, and his outward appearance was the tiniest peek into all the brilliant ideas he had swirling around in his head. He loved his life, lived in the moment, and always looked forward to the next part of the journey.Jake was a visionary hustler (it was right on his forehead), and a creative force. He held his Monacan heritage in high regard, drawing strength from his ancestors to navigate life's challenges. As a teenager, he published a book, and as a young adult, he wrote a graphic novel. A self-taught musician, he learned to play the ocarina, piano, and guitar. His creativity had no limitshe built intricate "MOC" Lego creations, painted, and drew endlessly. However, his greatest passions were tattooing and creating music. More than anything, he was drawn to these arts because he knew they would live on long after he was gone.Jake was a beloved son to Elizabeth and Richard Luke and John Sarama, and the cherished grandson to Lori Lynn Porter, Ruby Gail Forbes, a great-grandson of Jean Branham and Martha Gardner Porter. He was a loving big brother to Jason Nardone, Trent Jaskulski, and LeeAnna Luke. He left behind countless friends and family members who loved him deeply. Known for his brilliant mind, kind heart, and magnetic presence, Jake had a remarkable ability to make friends and light up any room he entered. His warmth, humor, and talent will be profoundly missed, but his spirit transcends the earthly world and remains with us all.Jake did not want a traditional viewing or service. His wishes were well known to his family and closest friends. In honor of his life, we will host a "Celebration of Life Party" at a later date. When the time is right, we will share the details and invite all who knew and loved Jake "Hawk" to join us in remembering him through stories, songs, art, and prayer. We deeply appreciate the love and support from everyone during this difficult time. Your memories of Jake and the impact he had on our lives will keep his spirit alive in our hearts forever.Warmly,Elizabeth Luke Funeral Home Helm - Gallagher Funeral Home - Green Cove Springs 1811 Idlewild Avenue Green Cove Springs FL - 32043 US (904) 284-9696
