Funeral services for James Allen, 90, who passed away on May 15, 2016, will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 (904)355-9545, with Rev. Wiley Ammons Jr., officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday (Today) from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Mr. Allen was born in Greenville, North Carolina and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. He was a Commercial Fisherman by trade and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Wendell E. Hale. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Valine Caldwell Allen; 1 daughter, Janice Ammons (Wiley); 1 son, Jerry Britt (Lucky); 1 sister, Mable Louise Little; 3 grandchildren, Rev.
