James "Jim" Vernon Balogh

Mr. James Vernon "Jim" Balogh, age 76, of Keystone Heights passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Shands UF in Gainesville. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio February 19, 1939 to the late John and Helen (Petro) Balogh and had served in the United States Navy. In 2005, Mr. Balogh and his wife moved to Keystone Heights from Michigan where he had retired as and Electrician from General Motors. He was raised in the Catholic Faith and loved to cook. He also enjoyed fishing, working with hands building various things and making stained glass. Mr. Balogh is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley "Gene" Balogh; three children, Julie, Jim, Janelle along with three additional children, Jeff, Steve, and David. He also leaves behind seven siblings, Doug, Carol, Dick, Gerry, Michael, Ron and Rose; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, December 31, 2015 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Father Mike Williams presiding.
