Obituary of James Clayton Brewer(September 9, 1941, to March 12, 2021)James Clayton Brewer ("Jim"), 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 12, 2021.Jim was born to Otha and Ollie Brewer in Ferris, Texas, on September 9, 1941. After graduating High School, he joined the United States Army and moved to Arkansas where he met the love of his life, Lou Ann Crutchfield. Jim and Lou Ann married in 1964.Jim and Lou Ann served with Campus Crusade for Christ (now known as CRU) from 1971 1981, then as Hospital Pastor at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida, from 1981 1992. He had a mens ministry, Men for the Moment, for several years and the last five years was employed by the Supervisor of Elections. Jim loved his family unconditionally, encouraged others consistently, served the Lord faithfully, and gave thanks decidedly in everything. Above all else, Jims desire was to lift up Jesus, pointing others to Him. His lifes ambition was leading others to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mrs. Lou Ann Brewer of Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter, Jamie (Joey) Vaughn, of Jacksonville, Florida, a son, Clayton (Angela) Brewer, of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; Joseph (Rachel) Vaughn of Jacksonville, Florida; Jordan (David) Burdetsky, of Jacksonville, Florida; Jonathan Vaughn of Charlotte, North Carolina; Clay Brewer of Panama City Beach, Florida; Catherine Brewer and Carson Brewer, of Jacksonville, Florida; Three great-grandchildren; Eliza Vaughn, Juliet Vaughn, and Rowan Burdetsky, all of Jacksonville, Florida, and many other family members and friends.A visitation will be held at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South, Jacksonville, Florida 32216, from 6-8 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2021.A Celebration Service Friday will be held at Glendale Community Church, 6411 Beach Blvd., in Jacksonville on Friday, March 19 at 11:00 AM, with Dr. John R. Sittema and Rev.
