Jacob "Jake" Browder of Lawtey, born on January 17, 1945, in Paoli, Indiana, passed away on July 11, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida, at the age of 79. He was a lifelong carpenter who poured his passion into every project he undertook. Jacob was known for his infectious laughter, unwavering faith, and his big, infamous eyebrows that always seemed to have a story of their own. He found joy in simple pleasures: a well-chewed cigar, the comfort of watching classic western movies, and the solace of singing hymns and leading music at his church. Jacob was also an avid reader and shared many adventures with his wife, Connie Browder, as they traveled together, creating cherished memories. His dedication to his craft, traveling and his love for music were evident throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Browder, his son, Chad Browder, and his brother, Henry Browder (Vivian). Jacob is survived by his children: Matthew Browder, Dale Mosley (Rachel), and Tammy Riggs (Matthew), as well as his siblings: Elmer Browder (Linda, deceased), Ruby Harper (Nick, deceased), David Browder (Glenda), and Robert "Bob" Browder (Sharon). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Emily, Bailey, and Garrett, and great-grandchildren, Carter and Della, who affectionately called him "Papa". Jacob will be remembered for his warm smile, his unwavering faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A graveside service to celebrate Jacob's life will be held at Long Branch Cemetery on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 7 pm.
