James Vernon Chester

James Vernon Chester died peacefully on June 11, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, June 15, 2017. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00pm at Whitehouse Assembly of God, 135 Chaffee Road, Whitehouse, Florida 32220, and the funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. He was a member of Whitehouse Assembly of God, 135 Chaffee Road, Whitehouse, Florida 32220. Mr. Chester was born in Telogia, Florida on September 4, 1923, to the late Jack and Evie Chester. Mr. Chester lived in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida since 1957. He retired as the owner of Chester Fuel Service later known as Chester Heating & Air, for more than 35 years. Mr. Chester was a World War II Veteran, Boilermaker and a member of the World War II Museum and American Legion.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Verna Louise Chester, one sister, Lou Jean Guiberteau, one brother, Jackie Chester, and oldest daughter, Sharon Kaye Hill and one son, George Michael Franklin. Survivors include daughters, Denise Chester Turner, Glenda (Anthony) Roque and one son, Kenneth (Suzanne) Franklin, 6 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James Calvin Butler, II; Ashley Roque; Brook Roque; Anthony Roque; Clifford Williams and Daryle Blankenship. HONORARY PALLBEARER - Kenneth Franklin. Mr. Chester was a very lovely compassionate polite and caring person whose faith and trust in God was exemplified throughout his life by taking care of his friends and family.Arrangements by George H.
