James Lawrence Davis, 81, passed away on August 20, 2026, in Jacksonville, FL

Lawrence was born on August 23, 1944, in Worthington Springs, FL. to Lawrence Adonis and Lota Elizabeth Mizell Davis. He graduated in 1962 from Santa Fe High School, Alachua FL.

Lawrence was the patriarch of his family and a pillar of the community. His passion was farming and he lived his life as straight as the rows he plowed. Sitting behind the wheel of a John Deere tractor was his favorite place to be. Lawrence was a fourth-generation farmer alongside his brother, Curtis Davis. He poured his heart and soul into cultivating the land. Together, they own LCD Farms and Crossroads Produce. Lawrence was a lifelong member of St Johns Church where he served as a deacon. He is dearly loved and will forever be in our hearts.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Adonis Davis and mother, Lota Elizabeth Mizell Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janice Davis. Son: Jamie Bradley (Kristie), Daughter: Mandy Law (Joey), Brother: Curtis Davis (Cindy), Grandchildren: Tyler Bradley, Savannah Law and River Law, Great grandchild: Phenix (Savannah), Nieces: Jennifer Storch (Brandon), Tara Justice (Tony) and Amanda Davis, Great nieces: Ellie, Tessa and Madison, Great nephew: Weston and many beloved family and friends

A memorial service for Lawrence will be held on October 3rd at 11:00, at St. Johns Church, 26000 NW CR 239 Alachua, FL 32615, officiated by Pastor Beaver Twist
