James R. Edgar, Jr.

James R. Edgar, Jr. "Jimmy", age 73, beloved Husband, Brother, Uncle and Great Uncle passed away on October 3, 2015. Born in Waycross, GA on May 12, 1942, Jimmy moved to Jacksonville after graduating from Georgia Southern University. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, J. Riley, Sr. and Sarah Grace Edgar, his brother, Gary L. Edgar and sister, Betty Brewster. Jimmy is survived by his wife Brenda Edgar of 41 years, sisters Gloria Wildes and JoAnne Hakanson. Jimmy is loved by many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. Jimmy's second love was for computers and technology; working for various companies in Jacksonville, including Independent Life Insurance, Gulf Life Insurance, American Heritage Life Insurance and Black Knight Financial Company. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday October 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 9, 2015 in Southpoint Baptist Church, 3335 Tiger Hole Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32216 with Dr. Terry N. Collins officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, 5000 Brunswick Highway, Waycross, GA 31503.
