James "Ermie" Jones

Mr. James Ermie Jones age 93, of Starke passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ermie was born on May 26, 1924 in Bell to the late Vassie and Eunie (Bass) Jones and was a longtime area resident. Mr. Jones served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Starke. Prior to retirement he owned and operated a craft shop in Starke. Preceding him in death was his wife of 71 years Jacqueline (Mathis) Jones, siblings, Billy Jones, Junior Jones, and Pauline Stevens. Survivors are: his children, Jimmy Jones of Enterprise. AL, Randy Jones (Vorease) of Starke, sister, Audrey Powell of Bell, grandchildren, Jamie Jones of Enterprise, AL, Chris Jones of Enterprise, AL, Brandi Kirkland of Melrose, Courtney Jones of Starke and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. 5:00 P.M. with memorial services beginning at 5 oclock.
