James Franklin Williams

Mr. James Franklin Williams age 81, of Lawtey passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Shands at Lake Shore in Lake City after an extended illness. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Folkston, Georgia to the late Lemuel and Carrie (Jones) Williams. James had been a long time resident of Bradford County. He was a barber for over twenty years at Bradford Barber Shop, as well as retiring as Sergeant from the Department of Corrections. After retirement, James enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, and loved spending time with his family. He was also an avid Florida Gator fan.James is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Gwendolyn T. Williams of Lawtey; children, Shuri Pass of Keystone Heights, Billy Anders (Charlene) of Lawtey, Scotty Anders (Lynne) of Starke, and Michael Anders (Angie) of Lake Butler; siblings, Jean Martin (Ken) of Jacksonville, Sue Winkler of Starke, and Lemuel Williams (Jackie) of Middle Torch Key; grandchildren, Ashley Pass, Nicholas Pass, Hilary Gutierrez (Angel), Haley Reddish (Dusty), Brandon Anders, Luke Thompson, Hayden Thompson, Natalie Anders, Trent Rulevitch (Heather), Daniel Rulevitch, Briel Waldrop, and Brient Waldrop; and great grandchildren, Gracelyn Rulevitch, Rennan Pass, and Elliot Gutierrez. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
