Rev. James "Jim" Arthur Hubbard Sr., 78, of Melrose, FL entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at home surrounded by his wife and children. Born in Lee County, Virginia on August 18, 1944, he was the son of the late James Rufus Hubbard and Bess Mullins Hubbard. On December 25, 1964 Jim married the love of his life, Margret Ann Jones. In 1971 Jim moved from Virginia to Ocoee, FL to begin a career in banking. In 1985 Jim and family moved to Keystone Heights to begin work at Keystone State Bank. Jims life changed dramatically in February 1990 when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. His desire became telling everyone about how Jesus changed his life. He left his career in banking to answer Gods call to full-time ministry in January 1995. Jim pastored at Thompson Settlement Baptist Church in Jonesville, VA and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Oxford, FL.He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Sue Stapleton and Jane Napier Garrett and grandson Murdock Spencer Tisdale.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margret Jones Hubbard; four children, Artie Hubbard and wife Ginger of Shelby, NC, Marty Hubbard and wife Tracy of Melrose, FL Becky Tisdale and husband Rick of Melrose, FL, and Todd Hubbard and wife Kristin of Melrose, FL; 19 Grandchildren, Michael (Kelly) Hubbard, Taylor (Meaghan) Hubbard, Trey (Megan) Hubbard, Casey Hubbard, Samuel Tisdale, Leeann (Stefin) Bridges, David (Catie) Tisdale, Lilli Tisdale, Jonathan Hubbard, Ashlyn Hubbard, Faith Hubbard, Nate Tisdale, Jed Tisdale, Timothy Hubbard, Daisy May Hubbard, Alli Tisdale, Anthony Hubbard, Jesse Tisdale, and Deacon Hubbard, and two Great Grandchildren Piper and Maisie Hubbard and Baby Tisdale due this Fall; three brothers, Richard Hubbard of Pennington Gap, VA, John Hubbard and wife Beth of Williston, FL, Jerry Hubbard and wife Vicky of Winter Garden, FL; Sister-in-law Oma Lipps of Warner Robbins, GA, Brother-in-law Bill Jones of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights, FL with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Brandon Denmark.
