Mr. James Thomas Jeffries, 85, of Gainesville passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 23, 2014. Mr. Jeffries was born in Hillsdale, MI, but had lived in the Gainesville are since 1970 after moving here from Orlando, FL. Mr. Jeffries was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. Mr. Jeffries was preceded in death by his life partner Marie Frank and a son James Jeffries.Mr. Jeffries is survived by his sons John Jeffries and David Jeffries both of Gainesville, a daughter Linda Osborn of Hendersonville, TN, a step-son Lamar Steadham of Gainesville, a step-daughter Robin Temes of Graham, FL., and a brother Edward Jeffries of Celina, OH. Nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other family members, and friends also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Jeffries will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
