James D. Klein, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on July 25, 1944, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, James lived a life marked by dedication and service, both to his family and his country.
James proudly served his country as a Chief Corpsman in the United States Navy. James then carried out his professional journey as a Supply Supervisor for the Veterans Administration, where he served with honor and commitment. His tireless work ethic and attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends alike in the realm of public service.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Eleanor Klein, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. James is also remembered fondly by his daughter, Connie Guarino; sons, Alan Robbins and Randy Klein; and his adored grandsons, Travis Guarino, James Guarino, and Sean Robbins. James was proud of his family and derived immense joy from their accomplishments and happiness. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Hair and her children who shared in many of the family’s treasured memories.
Though James is no longer with us, his spirit and legacy will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, family love, and unwavering loyalty. In memory of James D. Klein, a celebration of his life and memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor a man who gave so much to others.
The ceremony will take place at the Chapel at Forest Meadows Cemetery - Central, Gainesville, FL, where his ashes will be lovingly interred.
As we reflect on James' life, let us remember his laughter, his kindness, and his generous spirit—qualities that will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
James was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Klein, his brother Charles Klein, and his sister Alice Casper.
