Mr. James M. McVay, age 85, of Keystone Heights formerly of High Springs, died Monday, November 30, 2009Born on July 5, 1924 in Crenshaw, AL, he was the son of the late James T. and Verla B. (Baggett) McVay.Prior to his retirement he was employed as a warehouse manager with Helena Chemical in Hague and prior to which he served for a period of 23 years with the U.S. Navy retiring in 1971. Mr. McVay served during World War II, Korean War & the Vietnam War. Mr. McVay was pre-deceased by his wife Helen Florence (Hermle) McVay.He is survived by his children: Mary Alice Culpeper of Dotham, AL, Judy Beatrice Welch and Nellie Frances Culpeper both of Newton, AL and George Thomas McVay of Hendersonville, TN. He is also survived by three step-children: Michele Grant, Raymond Sheese and Bobbie Meng all of Keystone Heights. One brother: Caroll W. McVay of Honoraville, AL and one sister: Lillian Medley of Ft. Walton Beach and several grandchildren & great grandchildren.Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at 4 oclock at the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel, 340 E. Walker Dr, SR 100., Keystone Heights with Chaplin Tom Miller & Dr. Benson Cain officiating.
