James C. Nugent, Sr. Age 72, Of Starke

James C. Nugent, Sr., of Florida, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at the age of 72. He was born on April 4, 1954, in Syracuse, NY. Throughout his life, James was known for his remarkable dedication to his craft as an electrician, a profession he excelled in for over 40 years. He took pride in founding and running his own company, James C. Nugent Electric, which he operated successfully for 10 years until his retirement in 2008.

James was a man of many interests. He found joy in playing guitar and singing, often sharing his talents with family and friends. Fishing and camping were among his favorite pastimes; allowing him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with those he loved.

He is survived by his son, James (Hope) Nugent, Jr.; his daughter, Emily (Bryan) Dawson; his grandchildren Dalton (Sarah) Nugent, Dustin Andrews, and Cole Dawson; and his great-grandchildren Si Nugent, Paisley Andrews, and Dustin Andrews, Jr.; his siblings Diane (Mike) Tierney, Linda (Larry) Roberts, Glenda (Marty) Padgett, Elaine (Buddy) Collings, Ricky Nugent, and Danny (Missy) Nugent;

James was preceded in death by: Paul Nugent, Sr., Vera Nugent, Donna Martini, Ronald Nugent, Paul Nugent, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April, 25, 2026, in the Lake Butler Community Center, 155 NW 3rd Street, Lake Butler, FL 32054.
