Mr. James Jimmy Arthur Osteen, Sr. 69, of Starke passed away at his home on Saturday, July 30, 2011 following an extended illness. Mr. Osteen was born in Trenton on September 7, 1941 to the late William Fields and Leonna Addie (Sheppard) Osteen. Mr. Osteen was a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Morgan Road Baptist Church. Prior to retirement from the City of Starke Mr. Osteen was a Sanitation Truck Driver. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Osteen, granddaughter, Brittney Blanton, 3 sisters Mazzie Hall, Bessie Grantham, and Rosalee Yarghn. Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Linda (Craft) Osteen and their children; James Osteen, Jr. (Angie) of Starke, Lynn Bowen Mullins (Chad) of St. Augustine, and Jason Osteen of Raiford. He is also survived by his brothers; William M. Osteen (Margaret), S.J. Osteen (Tiny), Franklin Osteen, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his extended family of 4 sisters, 3 brothers and the entire Craft family. Viewing for Mr. Osteen will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor James Blanton officiating. Burial will be at the Crosby Lake Cemetery.
