Mr. James Thornton Jimmy Parrish age 78 of Starke passed away Friday, November 27, 2009. Mr. Parrish was born in Tampa on October 29, 1931 to the late Maurice P. and Genevieve Russ Parrish, and moved to Starke in 1972. He was a retired Minister, and also retired from Union Correctional Institute. Jimmy was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and served in the United States Air Force. Survivors are: his wife of 58 years Betty Parrish of Starke; daughter: Pamela Marlene Ware of La Fayette, GA; sister: Virginia Ferguson of Dayton, OH; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 2-4 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, November 30, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL, 620 E. Nona St., Starke, FL with Reverend Henry Ortez and Pastor Melvin Schemer officiating.
