The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:30a.m. until service hour.Jimmy loved his family, friends and had a huge heart. He spent a lot of time with us. All of my friends know him as Uncle Jimmy, too, because he has always been around. He has gone on every vacation with me (Sammi) since I can remember and my childrens since they have been born. His nieces and nephews were like his own children. He was always telling my daughter Alis to hurry up and get married to her stud (Logan, her longtime boyfriend) because he needed another niece and nephew. JJimmy had a great love for his animals, they were also his children. His dogs, Rufus, Katy and Hattie were his fur babies and he had gold fish that would eat out of your hand. We will love and take care of these for him. My Mom (Joan) and Lindas house may look like a zoo when we get them all moved in but we wouldnt want it any other way!!Jimmy was awesome at his job. His drivers were his work family. He always had their back and had many laughs with them. They had nick names for Jimmy: Jim, Jimmy Jam, Gomer, Jim Bean. He had certain sayings he would say over the radio and in the office to them like: Ya Think, Imagine that, Im going upstairs to the window, I can see all that happening now and he would sing Tell Your Troubles to Jesus. One of the most famous sayings he used with everyone was You Know, I love you more than my luggage!!Jimmy loved vacation. He made many plans with us this year. His favorite things to do were cruising, camping, fishing and going to Ormond Beach for Labor Day or to get in the car and just drive. We went to WV one year and it was snowing and freezing cold. He was so cold he said if we flicked his ears they would shatter because they were frozen. He never went back to WV in the winter. J He hated to be cold!! We will go on those planned trips this year, just for him and continue to go to Ormond Beach every Labor day until I am unable to do so. !!Jimmy may not have lived a perfect life, none of us do, but he believed in God and he believed he was going to Heaven. We talked about death a lot because we have lost so many close family members.I can say this, when you feel the earth shake, it is because Jimmy, my brother Leon and my cousin Jerry are up to something up there. JPlease share this with everyone. We want Jimmy to be remembered for the fun loving person he was. From Sammi Smith (neice).IntermentWednesday, March 1, 2017 Riverside Memorial Park7242 Normandy BoulevardJacksonville, FL 32205Receiving FriendsWednesday, March 1, 201710:30 AM - 11:30 AM Chapel of George H.
