After a brief illness James A. Snelgrove, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida peacefully passed away in the early hours of Sunday, September 22, 2019. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 742 Arlington Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32211, with Father James R. Boddie, Jr. as celebrant. James is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl, his daughter Felicia, his two sons: Michael, (Dawn), of Marengo, IL, Roger, (Lori), of Fayetteville, AR. James is also survived by his grandchildren: Lauren, Jonathan, Mackenzie, Ryker, and Dominic as well as his siblings Jerry Snelgrove, Irene Munson, Connie Allison and Walter Masters. James was a graduate of Bishop Kenny High School, Class of 1954. Following High School he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1999 after a 25-year career with the United Parcel Service. He spent most of his retirement caring for his loving family. His pastime passions included golfing, fishing, doting on his precious grandchildren, and rooting for the "Gators!"Following the Memorial Mass, a gathering will take place in the church hall.
