Mr. James Grover Sparkman, Jr. (Sparky), 93, of Keystone Heights passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Community Hospice in St. Augustine. He was born August 24, 1928, in Webster to James G. and Claudia (Boone) Sparkman, Sr. Mr. Sparkman proudly served in the United States Air Force, then became a an electrical contractor after his military service. He wired many houses in the area. He worked hard to provide for his family, but never minded taking a day off to go fishing. His kind heart and quick laugh made him beloved by many. While a resident at the Park of the Palms Manor he helped in the flower garden and became known as "the man who gave flowers". Mr. Sparkman was also known to always have "Granddaddy Candy" in his pocket. He was a member of the Keystone Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Bea (Park) Sparkman and their granddaughter Allison. His survivors are his three daughters and their husbands Donna Henderson (Larry) of Keystone Heights, Danita Jacobi (Michael) of Alachua and Debbi Rayl (Michael) of Asheville, North Carolina, and his sister Mary Ruth Jackson (Billy) of Sumpterville. He was lovingly called "Granddaddy" by Jeremy (Chyann), Brian (Valerie), Michael (Lauren), Justin (Megan), Ian (Tammy), Whitney (Rob), Trevor (Lauren) and his eleven great-great grandchildren.
