James (Jimmy) Percy Thomas Jr, a cherished husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend, from Waldo, FL went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025 at the age of 77. Buck, as many call him, was born to James Percy and Doris Thomas on September 24, 1947, in Fort Myers, Florida. He grew up with his sister, Judy, and the family attended Riverside Baptist Church. He later moved to Waldo, Florida, after graduating from Fort Myers High School.After training at Fort Benning (1967), Buck served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and miraculously returned home earning a Purple Heart. In 1974, he earned his bachelor's degree in Agronomy from the University of Florida. He worked almost 30 years for the USDA as a loan officer. Buck was not just a hardworking man, he was a family man. In 1970, he married the love of his life, Cameron Faye (Graham) and together they had three childrenWhitney Brooke, Sydney Lane, and James Seth. He cherished his time with his family, including his children, their spouses, grandchildren, and extended family.Jimmy is survived by his wife, Cameron Thomas; his childrenWhitney McCallister (Billy), Sydney Russell (Justin), and Seth Thomas (Susan); his grandchildrenTrent, Kylie, Ethan, Baylie, Tison, Nolan, and Noah; and his sister, Judy McGill, along with many family members that he loved. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2pm at the First Baptist Church of Waldo.In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Jimmys honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnels to Towers, or the Mighty Oaks Foundation.
