Youngblood, James WilliamJames William Youngblood, age 85, passed away on Saturday August 7, 2021 at his home in Jacksonville, surrounded by loving family. A long-time Jacksonville resident, James was a native of Albany, Georgia; born on November 25, 1935 to Hoke & Rhoda Youngblood.James attended Albany High School in the Class of 1954. After graduating high school, James entered the military and served his country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corps, receiving his Honorable discharge in 1957 as a Sergeant. Upon completion of his service James began working as an electrician, most notably with Miller Electric in Jacksonville until his retirement.James enjoyed spending time with his family, doing woodwork & making things for his family. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union (I.B.E.W.) & Southpoint Baptist Church.James was preceded in death by his parents & by a daughter, Paige Dorsey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Marjorie "Janis" Youngblood; a son, Steve Youngblood; a daughter, Kim Brown; 10 grandchildren Christopher, Matthew, James, Seth, Sarah, Dustin, Ashley, Adam, Becky a sister, Shelby Olimpieri and by a number of extended family members & friends.A funeral service & interment with military honors provided by the U.S.M.C. will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday August 13, 2021 in Jacksonville National Cemetery with his son, Steve, officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
