Mrs. Jan Clarice Tomlin DeWitt age 82, of Keystone Heights passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at Shands Starke. Mrs. DeWitt was born on November 9, 1931 in Statesboro, Georgia to the late Thomas Mitchel and Kathleen (Rushing) Tomlin. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Masters Degree in Education and taught for over 30 years in Duval County public schools. Jan was a member of Fresh Start Fellowship Church in Keystone Heights and was a long standing member of the Keystone Kampers, (a group of Keystone residents that went on camping trips together).She enjoyed Jacksonville Jaguar football games and was a season ticket holder for many years. She was a loving mother to her three children. Preceding her in death was her husband of 51 years Charles William DeWitt and her daughter Debra L. Macomber. Survivors are her sons: Charles William DeWitt, Jr. (Sherri) of St. Augustine, John R. DeWitt of Keystone Heights; sisters: Kathleen Moore of Statesboro, GA, Lynn Neville of Register, GA, Patricia Browne of Louisville, GA; grandchildren: Kyle Macomber, Blake Macomber, and James DeWitt. Memorial services will be held in Fresh Start Fellowship Church on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Steve Conner officiating.
