Mrs. Janet Massin Anderson age 73 of Fleming Island, passed away Wednesday, July 9,

2025, at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center following a short illness. She was born April

22, 1952, in Queens, New York to Charles and Edith (Paikin) Massin. Mrs. Anderson

earned her Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville,

received her MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and was a member of

the Kappa Delta sorority as an undergraduate at the State University of New York at

Albany. Her career as an attorney began with the State of Florida after volunteering with

the Guardian ad Litem program. Prior to becoming an attorney, she was an executive with

Barnett Bank in Jacksonville. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing card games, solving

word puzzles, and walking her beagle Lucy, but most of all she loved spending time with

her family and enjoying life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her

husband Chief Warrant Officer Donald Francis Anderson who served in the United States

Navy and nephew, Craig Abramowitz. She is survived by her daughter Caitlin Anderson

Choate and Caitlin's fiancé Lonnie Olive, her sister Cheryl (Seymour) Abramowitz,

cherished sisters in law Joan (John) Lee and Eileen (Mark) Wiley, many nieces and

nephews, as well as her special beagle Lucy. There are no scheduled services at this time.
