Janet Wilson (Clason) Manning, age 89, of Neptune Beach, Florida (formally of Springfield, Massachusetts and Mystic, Connecticut) passed away on Monday September 18, 2017.Janet was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 3, 1928 to Robert Mackinlay Clason & Catherine Allan Clason. Janet spent her entire life doting on and caring for her large family. She was a loyal and dedicated USN military wife of retired RMC (SS) Kenneth H.Manning, her soul mate for over 50 years. She raised five children who knew they were her priority. Janet enjoyed first and foremost - her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each one felt she loved them the most. She loved the beach, ANY social gathering, bingo, gardening, exercise class, traveling, the Jacksonville Jaguars and was an expert with all natural vitamins and holistic health remedies. Grammie was the kindest person ever who would help any person or animal in need. She lived everyday to the fullest and loved life! Her never ending smile was genuine and her laughter filled any room she was in. Words can not describe what a wonderful human being Janet was.Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Kenneth H. Manning, Sr.; son, Kenneth H Manning Jr, son in law Gary F Shubert and older brother Robert Clason.Janet is survived by her 4 daughters: Patricia Pecina (Dennis), Kathleen Plasse (Don), Janet Woodard (Woody) & Eileen Sheehan (Bill) along with her beloved little brother Thomas Clason. Grammie leaves her 11 grandchildren: Ken Plasse (Rachel), Dave Plasse, Melanie Harris (Ryan), Troy Woodard, Brian Woodard, Robert Shubert (Katie), Larry Sheehan (Krista), Jimmy Sheehan, Charlotte Manning, Emily Manning and Kenny Manning. Janet was known affectionately as 'GG' to her 23 great grandchildren; Andrew, Dylan, Kaden, Jake, Logan, Grady. Haley, Jillian, Edie, Allyson, Katelyn, Noelle, Brooke, Owen, Garrett, Calvin, Claire, Ava, Ryland, Miles, Davin, Jacey and Calan. Janet also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who have nothing but fond memories to keep her close forever.The entire family will congregate from all over the United States to celebrate her life at a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC where she will be reunited with her husband.
