Jean Chappell Lovejoy Jean Chappell Lovejoy, 94, passed away April 25, 2012. She was born September 9, 1917 in Kendallville, Indiana to James M. and Pearl Chappell. Her family moved to Louisville, KY when she was 3. Jean was predeceased by her husband, William O. Lovejoy in 1991 after 48 years of marriage. She attended the University of Louisville where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Jean graduated from Kentucky State Board of Health as a Medical Technologist and was also a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She worked for many years at Geisenhofs Gift Shop in San Marco. Jean was a longtime member of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church and she was past president of the ladies section of the German American Club where she and Bill danced many nights away. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Southlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving and compassionate care. Jean is survived by her nephew, Hugh Chappell (Linda), nieces Nancy Fenton (Tom) and Susie Mittelstadt (Jim) and several great nieces and nephews. A service for Jean will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 27, 2012 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S., with Rev. Susan P. Takis officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church or Haven Hospice.
