Mrs. Jeanette "Jan" Hastings 78 of Jacksonville formerly a longtime resident of Keystone Heights passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, in Jacksonville following an extended illness. She was born December 17, 1943, to the late Thomas and Jeanette (Duckett) Moss in Greenville, South Carolina. Mrs. Hastings served in the United State Navy Reserves working as the store keeper at NAS JAX. She was also a retired nurse working at the Clay County Jail and teaching CNA classes at the high school. She was a longtime member Freedom Baptist Church and most recently Cedar Bay Baptist Church in Jacksonville; she was also involved with the Gideons Auxiliary and assisted in coordinating L.A.M. in Keystone Heights. Being in the healthcare field this lead her to volunteering countless hours with hospice and the Tacachale Center in Gainesville. Mrs. Hastings survivors are her husband of over 40 years Jerry Hasting of Jacksonville; a son Carl Edwin Finney (Amy) of Jacksonville, a daughter Robin S. Black of Keystone Heights, a sister Rosemary Sutherland of Yulee and a niece Susan Foster (Gary) of Mandarin. She was lovingly call "Grams" by three grandchildren Carolyn, Cody Thorn and Bethany Black. A Celebration of Life for Jan will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Gadara Baptist Church with Dr. Benny Reynolds and Pastor Shawn House officiating. Interment will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Gideons International Processing Center, P.O.
