STARRATT: Funeral services for Jennie Elizabeth Starratt, 98, who passed away on March 4, 2024, will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South with Pastor Perry Fruscella officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Ferreira Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Starratt was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late, Algie Burt Salis and Mary Jane Hutto and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. When younger she sang in the church choir. She loved her family dearly and was an avid animal lover. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Stephen Bank Starratt Sr; Daughter, Patsy Phillips, and son, Eddie Burt Martin. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Janie Ruth Starratt, Barbara Weakley, and Irene Register; 2 sons, Alfred Clayton Starratt and Steven B. Starratt Jr.; Many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-grandchildren. Serving as active Pallbearers will be Wade Davidson, Harold Davidson, Byron Starratt, Daniel Starratt, Gordon Starratt and Robert Fife. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Memorials be made in her memory to either the Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
