Jennie V. Langley Waters, 93, of Micanopy, Florida passed away on June 1, 2024. Jennie was born in Monticello, Florida on September 30, 1930 to George and Jennie Brady.Jennie was married for 33 years to William Vernon Langley. She was married to Chad Waters for 38 years. Both husbands preceded her in death.Jennie worked as a cottage parent for Sunland Training Center, now known as Tacachale Center in Gainesville, Florida. She was active in her church, Highland Missionary Baptist Church, in Gainesville, Florida.She is survived by her sons, Mitchell Langley of Hawthorne, Florida, George Langley of Marietta, Georgia, Rickey Langley (Carla) of Bronson, Florida, and Keith Langley of Gainesville, Florida; daughters, Leola Dixson (Bill) of Archer, Florida, LaVerne Stricklin (David) of Micanopy, Florida, and Debbie Hare (Johnny) of Micanopy, Florida; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Jennie Brady, her first husband, William Vernon Langley, and her second husband, Chadwick Waters.The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Missionary Baptist Church, 2620 NE 15th St, Gainesville, Florida with Pastor Kris Hartmann officiating. The visitation will be 1 hour before. The interment will follow the funeral service at Forest Meadows Cemetery East, 3700 SE Hawthorne Rd, Gainesville.
