Mrs. Jeraldine Emily Johns HootenMrs. Jeraldine Emily Johns Hooten age 92 of Kingsley Lake passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs following a brief illness. Mrs. Hooten was born on January 12, 1918 to the late Garfield and Millie Adler Johns and was a native of Bradford County. She graduated from Bradford High in 1935, was a volunteer for the Suwannee River Valley food bank, a member of the Bradford County Homemakers, was a 4-H County Fair Judge, and retired from the Texaco distributor in Gainesville as an accountant. Jeraldine was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Starke, and flowers were her hobby. She was preceded in death by her husband Allwane J. Hooten and daughter Betty Cullen. Survivors are: daughters: Linda Knowles of Green Cove Springs; Anne Wilson of Rincon, GA; brother: L.G. Johns of Ft. McCoy; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL in Starke on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the First Christian Church of Starke with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating.
