Jerry Wayne Amburgey "Mr. Crane", age 79, passed away February 2, 2024, at the VA hospital. Jerry was born in Fleming, KY on December 12, 1944, to parents Prova and Mabel Amburgey. He met the love of his life Eva Lea King in Mount Sterling, KY in 1969 and they have been married for 55 years. They moved to Gainesville and bought Cranes Cleaners in 1977, which Eva Lea operates to this day and is affectionately known as "Mrs. Crane". Jerry was a true renegade with the heart of a philanthropist, and he donated to many charities. He was a past member of the Gator Touchdown Club, the Elks Lodge, and the American Legion, having served our country during the Vietnam War era. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Amburgey, and sister Pat Adams. He is survived by his wife, daughter Leanne Sprague (Don), son David W. Amburgey, and brother-in-law Jim Adams and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held Saturday February 10th at Forest Meadows Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm. Funeral Services will be Sunday February 11th at 1:30pm at Countryside Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Keith officiating.
