Jerry W Smith

Jerry W. Smith passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, in Keystone Heights, Florida. He was born on November 19, 1940, in Bono, Arkansas. 

Jerry was a devoted family man who cherished the time he spent with those he loved most. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papa” and “Da.” His family was the center of his life, and the memories he created with them will be treasured for generations to come. 

Jerry enjoyed the simple things in life, including hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police officer. He was also a Mason for 20 years, where he valued the fellowship and brotherhood that came with his membership. 

Jerry was a loving husband to his wife of 66 years, Nancy (Foster) Smith, and a cherished father to Dana Moody and Katie (Jay) Payne. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Nathan (Shonda) Moody, Ashley (Hunter) Drury, Brandon (Tiffany) Chester, Chris (Hanna) Chester, Jay (Victoria) Payne, and Jerry (Barissa) Payne; his nine greatgrandchildren; as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nealy and Minnie Smith; his brothers, Charlie Smith, Hubert Smith, Elvis Smith, and Earl Smith; and his sisters, Imogene Lacer and Ocie Tate. 

There will be a Memorial Service at Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights on Friday October, 9. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. and the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.
