Jerry Walter Miles,

Jerry Walter Miles, Sr. age 76, of Florahome passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Mr. Miles was born in Phenix City, Alabama on March 11, 1939 to the late Herman and Muriel (Judah) Miles. Before enjoying retirement Mr. Miles, worked as an Air Traffic Controller, and was on the National Board of Directors for P.A.T.C.O. He was also an avid Alabama fan and loved country music. Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Thies) Miles, and by brother, Clifford "Cliff" Miles. Survivors include Jerry "Jay" Miles, Jr. (Wanda) of Middleburg, Jeffery Miles (Theresa), Jody Miles (Cecelia) all of Fayetteville, NC, and Christina Griffin (Willy) of Jacksonville; brother, Wayne Miles of Homosassa; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Miles will be held in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Willie Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services beginning.
