Mr. Jesse Ray Burgess age 91, of Keystone Heights passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka. Mr. Burgess was born in Gamaliel, Kentucky on September 14, 1922 to the late Hillary and Virgie Burgess, and had served our Country for four years in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist Faith, a World War II Veteran and a great family man and daddy. Prior to retirement, Mr. Burgess had been a Custodian for the Indiana School System and became a resident of Keystone Heights 12 years ago. Mr. Burgess was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Freida Burgess and their son, Earl Burgess. Survivors are his two children, Freida Boggs of Keystone Heights and Edward Wayne Burgess of Indiana; two siblings, Reed Burgess and Carson Burgess both of Gamaliel, Kentucky. Also left behind are his eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services and internment will be held in Gamaliel, Kentucky.
