Dr. Jianhua Liu passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at his home in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on November 24, 1962, in Wendeng, China. He moved to the United States in 1987 to attend Tulane University, where he received his Ph.D. in chemistry. His experience in research and love for learning led him to a lifelong career in healthcare as an IT executive and data architect.

Jianhua's life epitomized the values of tenacity, integrity, and the pursuit of knowledge. He was an inspiration to many in his roles as a teacher and a leader, and he leaves behind a profound legacy through the lives he touched. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lan Yu, their cherished daughter, Emily Liu, his sisters-in-law, Yan Yu, Jenny Yu, and Zhen Yu, and his brothers-in-law, Jianbuo Zhang, Richard Xie, and Aiguo Zhou.

Jianhua's kindness, sense of humor, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
