Jimmie "James" Mattern Butts Jimmie James Mattern Butts, 80 of Jacksonville went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 11, 2012. He is predeceased by his wife Alice M. Butts. He is survived by his three daughters and one son. Wendy L. Harris (Randy) of Jax Beach, Sheri L. Keene (Steve) of Jax, Kimberly R. Young (Charlene) of Jax, and Charles M. Butts (Monique) of Jax. A sister Elaine Key of Corinth, MS. Three brothers; Wayne Butts of Chattanooga, TN, Donnie Butts of Jax, and John Lockhart of Valrico, FL., He is also survived by five grandchildren; Josh and Jesse Harris, Christina Keene, Jessica and Racheal Butts, eleven Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. James was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School and from Stetson University in Deland, FL. He was retired from the Duval County School Board as a teacher and from Johnson and Johnson, Vistakon. He was ordained by the Southern Baptist Convention. James was a long time member of the Southside Assembly of God Church. He was also active with the civil air patrol. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South, with Pastor Wayne Lanier officiating.
