Jimmie Lee Whitman

WHITMAN: Jimmie Lee "Bo" Whitman went on to the next chapter of his life on January 2nd, 2019. He lived 92 full filled years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Sarah L. Whitman and by his brother, Ray Whitman. He was born in Homeland, Florida, Resided in Key West for 30 years and made Jacksonville his home since 1990. He was a member of Cedar Bay Baptist Church. Bo is survived by his many family and friends including his daughter, Deborah R. Berry (Dave), 2 grandchildren, Mark Roberts and Renee Roberts; 3 great-granddaughters, Samantha, Ashlin and Charley. Bo proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy for 30 years. He enlisted at the age of 17 and fought in WWII and Korea. Bos family would like to acknowledge the wonderful friends Bo had, many in the Northshore neighborhood and to the fantastic staff of Community Hospice. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 with Rev. Bill Tyler officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery at 12:30 PM on Tuesday with full military honors.
