Mr. Joachim (Joe) Emil Freudewald, 77 of Keystone Heights passed from this life on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Park of the Palms Christian Retirement Community. Mr. Freudewald was born in Heiligenhaus, Germany on December 5, 1933 to the late Werner and Erna (Berning) Freudewald. He and Christiana Bernhardine were married on Dec. 9, 1960 in Heiligenhaus, Germany and then moved to Morristown, New Jersey, where they became naturalized U.S. citizens. Later they moved to Saddlebrooke, Arizona, where Joe worked as a chemist. Joachim was preceded in death by his wife in July 2009 in Arizona. Survivors are his two brothers whom live in Germany. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2 Oclock in the Park of the Palms Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Park of the Palms.
