Mrs. Joan "Karen" Dunne 72 of Gainesville passed away at her home Monday, July 11, 2022. She was born May 3, 1950, in Elizabethton, Tennessee to Jacob W. and Mary "Jean" (Hensley) Rash. Karen loved being a nurse working many years in the local Gainesville hospitals. She was a member of Crosspoint Church of God and loved cats. Karen was also very patriotic and was affectionately known as Miss America. She was a strong Republican but most of all she loved her God and her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Ralph L. Dunne and her brother Ronnie Rash. Karen is survived by her son Christopher Raymond "Chris" Langieri (Shanna) of Gainesville; a sister Sandra "Sandy" Marchman of Graham and a brother Bernell "Bernie" Rash (Lois) of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee along with a niece Amy Lipkin (Brad) of Orlando and a nephew Michael Rash of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. Karen was lovingly called "Grandma" by her precious grandson Ryan Raymond Langier of Gainesville. A Celebration of Life for Karen will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022, in the Crosspoint Church of God in Gainesville. Interment will be at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Crosspoint Church of God, 1520 NW 34th St., Gainesville, FL 32605.
