Mrs. Joan Neta Goben, age 77 of Green Cove Springs, passed away, Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Orange Park Medical Center. She was born March of 1935 to the late Clinton and Neta Mae (Smith) Fountain in Waycross, Georgia. Mrs. Joan had lived in the Green Cove Springs area since the 1970s. She enjoyed tending to the flowers in her garden and sewing. She was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Bardin. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Fountain. Mrs. Joan is survived by her husband of 37 years, Perry Goben, a daughter, Betty Warner of Green Cove Springs, a son, Ernest Page of Jacksonville, 3 brothers, Wendell Fountain of Nevada, Roger Fountain of Georgia and Ronnie Fountain of Green Cove Springs, 4 grandchildren, Olin McArthur, Misti Hutchins, Neta Mae Page and Amanda Gale Page and 3 great-grandchildren, Travis Wilder, Seanna Wilder and Shoun Outin.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home with Brother Mitchell Johns officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 23rd from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
