Joan Marie Byars Gordon Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Marie Byars Gordon, 82, widow of Frank L. Gordon, will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South with Dr. Terry R. Gore of Franklin Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Born July 4, 1930, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mrs. Gordon died Tuesday, October 30, 2012. She was a member of Hendricks United Methodist Church and was a retired bank teller. Mrs. Gordon was predeceased by a son, Michael R. Randy Gordon. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Thomas of Tampa, FL; three sons, Damon (Madea) Gordon of Yulee, FL, Timothy (Patricia) Gordon of Jacksonville, and Robert (Ron) Gordon of Boynton Beach, FL; a sister, Edna Clardy of Spartanburg, SC; and six grandchildren, Tyler, Jeffrey, Hunter, Tess, Ty and Tiffany. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m., at the funeral home.
