Joan Seibert

Remembering Joan (Peters) Seibert Joan Seibert, with her husband of 68 years, Jack Seibert served God through ministry and missions. Joan Seibert died on April 25, 2019 following her husband, Jack Seibert who died on March 19, 2019. Joan was Jacks support in all the ministry and missions. She was always gracious, courageous and calm in the face of lifes inevitable challenges.Joan was born in 1928, and grew up in Effingham, Illinois. She met Jack at Southern Illinois University where she was studying to be a teacher. Jack and Joan were married in 1950. Joan and Jack served in National Missions of the Presbyterian Church in Anchorage, Alaska from 1954 to 1958. In 1958 they began their mission service at the Sangli Industrial School in Sangli, Maharashtra, India. Joan ran the tailoring department in the school, served on the school board for Kodaikanal School and started an English primary school along with local women Sangli. Joan and Jack served in India until 1975. After returning from India, Joan and Jack served in many rural Presbyterian churches in the SE Synod of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Illinois and Missouri. They have lived in the Penney Retirement Community since February of 2006.
