Obituary

Mrs. JoAnn Jenkins Lahti, 65 of Keystone Heights died Thur. Dec. 26, 2009 in Gainesville. Mrs. Lahti was born in Jacksonville on July 7, 1944 to the late Mildred (Peacock) Jenkins. Mrs. Lahti had retired after 30 years of service from Bellsouth starting as an operator. Following her retirement she and her husband moved to Keystone Heights where she was the Food Vendor Coordinator for Our Country Day and worked as an assistant for Paul Newells office for many years. In JoAnns spare time she loved to fish, read, and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband of 47 years: Wayne Lahti of Keystone Heights, daughter, Toni Bouchard (John) of Jacksonville; son, Mark Lahti of Keystone Heights; siblings, John Jenkins of CA, Yvonne Webb and James Jim Jenkins both of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nathan, Ian, Erin, and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Bobby Jenkins. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Jan. 2, 2010 at 1 oclock in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home with Rev. Larry OConnell officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th St, Gainesville, FL 32608.
