JoAnne Coe Gill peacefully went to heaven on June 20, 2023, at her home in Melrose, Florida.Born on August 13th, 1931, in Canfield, Ohio, to Dr. L.G. Coe, Catherine Kline Coe, and sister, Norma, JoAnne had a wonderful childhood filled with cherished memories with her family and extended relatives at their family home, the "Coe-tel".Attending Wittenberg University as an English major, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi, creating bonds with sorority sisters that would last throughout most of her life. Soon after college, JoAnne married her beloved husband, James "Jim" Gill Jr., in 1956. They settled in Jacksonville, where they raised two children and made many lasting friendships. During this time, she enjoyed being a den mother for the Scouts, a member of the San Jose Garden Club and San Jose Country Club. Later, they moved to Melrose, where they built their family home on Lake Santa Fe and continued to be very active in the community and their church for many years.JoAnne was a devoted member of the Community Church of Keystone Heights and a proud member of several community organizations, including the Woman's Club of Keystone Heights and the Community Church of Keystone Heights' Women's Ministry. She volunteered as a secretary for the church office and directed the church's Rummage Sale for ten years.JoAnne was a loving and caring person who had a positive outlook on life and a deep love for God and family. Her kindness, warmth, and endless love for others will be missed by all who knew her.JoAnne is survived by her children: Matthew Gill (Leni) and DiAnne Jamerson (Marc); three grandchildren: Christina Adkins (Wes), Derick Gill (Shannon), and Taylor Solomon (Chase); three great-grandchildren: Zaiden, Daphne, and Penelope, as well as her many other family members and dear friends.JoAnne was predeceased by her husband, parents, and sister.Per her request, no services will be held.
