Joe B. Haire

Mr. Joe Haire, age 88 of Melrose passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Community Hospice in St. Augustine. He was born October 22, 1930, in Seville, Georgia to John and Mary Frances (Hall) Haire and had served in the United State Navy during the Korean War. In 1995 he moved to Melrose from Jacksonville where he retired following 22 years of employment with Winn Dixie as a Warehouse worker. Mr. Haire was a member of St. Annes Episcopal Church in Keystone Heights for many years then be joined Trinity Episcopal Church in Melrose; he had also been a member of the American Legion Post #202 in Keystone Heights. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Opal Jeanette (Hinson) Haire in 2009. Mr. Haire leaves behind a daughter Allison and a son Michael Haire; two step daughters Teresa Harris and Jenny Reed. Also left behind are two brothers Douglas Haire (Patricia) of Ocala and Charles Haire (June) of Thomasville, Georgia along with two granddaughters. A graveside service for Mr. Haire will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019, with Father Tony Powell officiating. Arrangements under the care of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home, 340 E.
