Mrs. Joenell W. BlackwelderOctober 16, 1924 - July 29, 2021Joenell W. Blackwelder age 96, of Clay Hill, FL passed away onThursday, July 29, 2021 in Orange Park. Joenell was born on October16, 1924 in Maxville to the late Jack and Dumpie (Bell) Wilkinson,she was a lifelong area resident. Prior to retirement she taughtschool for both Clay County and Duval County schools. Joenell was awonderful homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.Joenell enjoyed spending time with her family, including her churchfamily, reading, gardening, playing the piano and decorating. Shealso enjoyed the cows and horses at GingerBread Farms. In additionto her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, JimmyWilkinson, late husbands W. E. Thompson and William "Duke" Webband her stepson, Mark Webb. Joenell is survived by; her husband,William O. "W.O." Blackwelder, brother, Marion Wilkinson, son,William Daniel Thompson (Joanne), stepdaughter, Nella Marie Smith(Brent). Also left are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren,nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Long BranchBaptist Church on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm with avisitation prior beginning at 1:00. Interment will follow in LongBranch Cemetery.
