Mr. John Duren Anderson age 82 of Santa Fe Lake passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Anderson was born on January 17, 1928 in Starke to the late Albert W. and Myrtle Ruth Sheldrake Anderson and moved to Santa Fe Lake 30 years ago from Callahan. He retired from Florida Power and Light as the service manager for the Starke and Callahan offices. Mr. Anderson served his Country in the United States Army Air Corps in 1949 during the Berlin Air Lift when he met Sonja. It was through a special act of Congress that he was able to bring her to America in 1952. He served his community as a Bradford County Commissioner and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Starke. Survivors are: his wife Sonja Lohmann Anderson of Santa Fe Lake; son: John H. Anderson of Ft. Lauderdale; sister: Virginia Schwab of Merritt Island; grandchildren: Josh A. Anderson and Sascha A. Bartlett; great grandchild: Ava Bartlett. The family will receive friends in the Methodist church for a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
